A single piece of coal scrip was sold for $2,836.49 on December 18, 2022. Neal Burton was the highest bidder in an eBay auction for the Pittsburg Coal Co. token. The seller was O’Neal Collectibles; Cedartown, GA.

Pittsburg Coal was in Pittsburg, KY in Laurel County. The one dollar token is unlisted in the Edkins catalogue but is listed in the online update on this site. A five cent piece with the same image is listed as an R-10.

Pittsburg was home to at least seven other coal companies. Pittsburg Coal Co. operated from 1908 to 1910 and employeed 125 miners (Dodrill, 20,000 Coal Company Stores.)

Edkins described the token's image as "eight claws around a center star."
